France captures large amount of cocaine


(MENAFN) The French Ministry of Public Action and Accounts declared that agents of the regional customs administration in Caen, northwestern France, have caught 1,662 kg of cocaine in the commercial port of Caen.

The cocaine was reportedly filled in packs of about one kilo, hidden in a container from Brazil.

The street worth of the captured narcotic on Dec. 6 is estimated to be at least USD 79.83 at wholesale price and before being cut.

The branch of the Judicial Police of Caen has been charged with the probes of the heads of coordinated rings of the drug, its smuggling and possession, in addition to criminal conspiracy, to prepare these charges.
