Keep the Durand Line open, ANP tells Islamabad

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Peace in Pakistan is linked to stability in Afghanistan, a Pakhtun nationalist leader says, urging closer ties between the neighbours.

Awami National Party (ANP) secretary-general Mian Iftikhar Hussain, speaking to journalists at the Swat Press Club on Saturday, asked the federal government to keep the border with Afghanistan open.

An open frontier was necessary to facilitate people-to-people contacts between the two nations, enjoying strong cultural, religious and linguistic commonalities, he argued.

Mian Iftikhar alleged due to the non-serious attitude of the government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan had annoyed friendly countries
