Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Omar Razzaz Monday received Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.

Welcoming the president, the premier said the visit lays the groundwork for new opportunities and promising cooperation between both countries in various economic, trade, investment, political, cultural, tourism an agriculture fields.

Razzaz said that both Jordan and Macedonia shared similar challenges in terms of poor natural resource and reliance on human resources in development, which provided ample space for broader joint cooperation.

Ivanov, for his part, said he views with interest his trip to Jordan, as the first Macedonian president to visit the Kingdom, expressing hope for expanded cooperation.

He said his country is moving toward further democratization and enhancing the inclusiveness of the political process without exclusion of any social segments.

Both sides agreed on the importance of reaching agreements that govern cooperation between Amman and Skopje, including a protocol to avoid double taxation, to increase investments between the two countries.
