Algeria rescues 93 African children in human smuggling case


(MENAFN) Algerian authorities declared that 93 children of various African nationalities have been rescued from human smuggling rings.

Police Department and Social Assistance Bureau of Algiers confirmed: "Algerian security forces managed within a week to free 93 children of various African nationalities, including over 60 children from Niger, as they are exploited to raise money by begging in the capital Algiers."

The source added that the first mission was conducted five days ago, in which 39 children have been released from human smuggling groups who took advantage of them by begging in the streets of the eastern outskirts of Algiers in order to gain money.

The second mission, occurred on Thursday, in which 54 more children including 28 whom were without their parents, have been saved as they were begging alongside two men from Niger.
