Cairo, Nov. 8 (Petra) - Jordan is participating in a conference organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), dubbed "The Role of Legislation in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals," which is convened in the Egyptian capital.

The colloquium is held from 7-9 of November, which saw the participation of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman.

In a statement, Director General of the ARADO, Nasser Qahtani, said the discussions tackled employment projects aimed to alleviate poverty across the world, create new and decent job opportunities to enhance sustainable economic growth.

This effort, he noted, will promote responsible use of resources and guarantee sustainable consumption, adding all countries need to obtain "modern energy" at affordable prices, and boost role of civil organizations in achieving sustainable development.

The event will also touch on the role of environmental and criminal legislatures in achieving sustainable development, and to look into if they deter economic crimes, achieve social justice and preserve human rights.
