Jordan- Ryanair flight from Rome reaches Aqaba

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — A low-cost Ryanair plane flying from Rome on Tuesday landed at the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, the first of many direct flights reaching the port city from Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Germany.

Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat said that these flights should increase the number of tourists to Aqaba, stimulate the commercial activity in the city and facilitate investors' movement to and from the port city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Tourism Minister Lina Annab highlighted the importance of such routes in contributing to the growth of the Kingdom's tourism sector. Earlier in the week, a Ryanair plane flying from Budapest landed at the Queen Alia International Airport, the first of 14 flights that will operate from Europe to Jordan.
