Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced that tomorrow Sunday, October 21, will be a regular academic day according to the academic calendar for the academic year 2018-2019. There will be no suspension of study in schools.

The ministry stressed that a number of schools will not be able to receive students tomorrow and will be not able to conduct classes so as the task forces can carry out the necessary actions to address the damage caused by the rains that have taken place in the country today. The parents of the students were notified of this decision.

Many schools have informed the same to the parents through their channels of communication. Some private schools have informed the parents of their decision through SMS or email.

The ministry called on the public to not pay attention to rumours and false news about the suspension of classes tomorrow, which has been officially denied, and urged everyone to follow information from official sources.

Qatar University president Dr Hassan Al Derham tweeted that the university will function as usual, while Qatar Foundation said all the entities inside education city will be closed.
