Kuwait- College of Social Sciences organizes Women's Forum 22 Oct.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 16 (KUNA) -- Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Hamoud Fahad Al-Qashaan announced Tuesday that the eighth Annual Women's Forum will be held on October 22nd.
The two-day forum will be held at Kuwait University under the patronage of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh and organized by Women's Research and Studies Center.
It aims to highlight the college's mission in supporting development in Kuwait and activating Article (5) of the State Development Plan on supporting women.
In this regard, Al-Qashaan praised Kuwaiti women's efforts, which exceeded the regional boundaries and reached the global efforts, pointing to the distinguished women's award entitled "Role Model" in order to strengthen the role of women leaders and their pioneering achievements in society.
For her part, Head of Women's Research and Studies Center at Kuwait University Dr. Lubna Al-Qadi said that the Center is organizing the forum in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Supreme Council for Planning and Development (UNDP), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Commission on the Status of Woman, and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
The forum will shed light on the role of women in political, social, economic and educational leadership in order to benefit from the experiences of women who have worked in leadership and the challenges they face, and to highlight the importance of integrating women into decision-making for sustainable development.
The forum will include five themes, namely the leadership of women in various fields, the positive impact of women in society and its development, women's axis, political and economic leadership, women's leadership and in volunteering alongside the axis of human capital development and women's participation, Al-Qadi explained.
Two workshops will be held during the forum; the first of which was the Women's Leadership Program, the second will focus on the Women's Leadership Dialogue Program, to support their communication and empowerment in society.(end) asa.nhq
