Iranian, Kazakh leaders discuss economic ties

(MENAFN) Iran's President Hassan Rouhani was confirmed to have explored with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev methods to boost economic ties.

The Iranian president also highlighted the necessity for his country and Kazakhstan to start using national currencies for trade instead of the US dollar.

Rouhani stated "Tehran and Astana can take more effective steps on the path of development of bilateral relations by establishment of more brokering ties and using their national currencies."

The statement has been made by the president on Sunday at the meeting on the sidelines of leaders of Caspian Sea littoral states' summit in the Kazakh port city of Aqtau.
