Afghanistan- Atmar, EU Team Talk Peace, Training of Police Force


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - National Security Advisor (NSA) Hanif Atmar has discussed financial support for Afghan forces with UK and EU ambassadors, an official said on Saturday.
Qader Shah, spokesman for National Security Council (NSA), told Pajhwok Afghan News Atmar met a EU delectation led by Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon in Kabul on Friday.
Both sides discussed EU's willingness to train Afghan security personnel, particularly the police force, Shah informed.
Mayaudon told the NSA the EU planned to train Afghan police and strengthen their capacity, especially policewomen.
Atmar welcomed the EU plan and shared strategic plans the Afghan government was working on it. He urged the EU to support the implementation of the plans.
The two sides stressed the need for enhancing the capacity Afghan policewomen, whose professionalism would help women achieve their rights and justice.
On the other hand, Atmar also met the UK ambassador to Afghanistan in his office, Qader Shah added. Atmer and Sir Nicholas conferred on the peace process and future plans.

The NSA appreciated UK's continued cooperation on training Afghan forces. Nicholas hailed peace efforts by the Afghan government as a positive step. (Pajhwok)
