Houthi militants continue int'l law violations: UAE minister

(MENAFN) UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash stressed that Houthi militants "continue violating international humanitarian law" as the the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen "paused" its campaign in the Yemeni port city of Hodeida.

The "plant land and sea mines, place snipers and weapons in civilian areas, forcibly conscript civilians, including 15,000 children, and obstruct delivery of humanitarian aid," the UAE minister stated.

The UAE supports "continuing efforts" UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths makes to achieve an unconditional Houthi pull out from Hodeida, Gargash said.

Gargash then added that "we have paused our campaign to allow enough time for this option to be fully explored."
