US convicts police captain's son of plotting terror attacks


(MENAFN) The son of a policeman, who was among the first responders to the Boston Marathon blast five years ago, has been convicted to planning an ISIS-inspired attack.

Alexander Ciccolo has been handed 20 years sentence in jail for plotting deployment of weapons and homemade explosives to attack a college campus in efforts to help the Islamic State group.

Ciccolo was detained after her got four guns purchased from a person, who was an FBI agent, according to Fox News.

Boston Police Capt. Robert Ciccolo informed the authorities after his son declared he intended to join the Islamic State group.
