(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) An Asian truck driver succumbed to his injuries after two trucks collided and caught fire along Emirates roadon Sundaynight.

The accident occurred due to speeding and inattentive driving.

The RAK police central operations room dispatched traffic patrols, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in record time.

"One of the drivers involved in the accident did not make it and was burnt to death," said Col Ahmed Al Samm Al Naqbi, director of the traffic and patrols department of the RAK police.

"The corpse of the deceased was delivered to the hospital morgue and then kept for burial by relatives. The other driver was admitted to the hospital for medical care and treatment."
