Turkish authorities arrest 12 IS suspects S. Turkey


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Turkish security forces have arrested 12 persons suspected to have had links to the so-called Islamic State (Daesh) terror group during anti-terror operations in a southern province of Turkey.

Anti-terror police carried out simultaneous raids on several addresses in Adana, a police official quoted by Anadolu Agency (AA) as saying. Twelve suspects, including two Syrians, were arrested during the operations.

More than 300 people have lost their lives in the IS-claimed attacks in Turkey so far, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bombings, rockets and gun attacks.

Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart the so-called IS attacks.(end).
