Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC) H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani said that celebrating the National Day on December 18 of each year is a national ceremony where Qatari people express their support and solidarity with their wise leadership. The day also is a chance to remember the founding of the state on the hands of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani.
The chairman of QC expressed his congratulations to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari people on the occasion.
Speaking exclusively to Qatar News Agency to mark the occasion, he said that the chairman of QC said that the celebration will take place in unprecedented circumstances this year given the unfair siege Qatar is subjected to by three countries who targeted the sovereignty of Qatar.
Sheikh Khalifa noted that the wise leadership dealt confidently with the siege and managed to guide Qatar to safety.
He said that the State of Qatar managed to limit the impact of the siege, benefiting from its distinguished international ties and economic capabilities to find new aerial and maritime routes with a number of countries including the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Turkey, India, and Pakistan among others.
Chairman of QC stressed that the Qatari economy surprised everyone with its strength as Qatar's exports of oil and gas continued uninterrupted.
The year 2017 was a busy one for Qatar Chamber, particularly as it hosted a number of events focused on alleviating the impact of the siege and preventing from spilling over into the local market. The chamber was quick to hold many meetings with suppliers of basic materials and food products to find ways to supply all products.
