AL AIN, 4th December, 2017 (WAM) -- The 'My Heritage, My Responsibility' series is set to return to Al Ain Palace Museum on 7th - 8th December for the second consecutive year, as part of Al Ain's calendar of cultural activities and events organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi.

Featuring an array of events and activities, this series will focus on the variety of traditional performances typical to the different regions of the UAE, from desert, to mountains, sea and oases.

The programme celebrates the UAE's rich cultural history and heritage and highlights the country's variety of customs and traditions, influenced by the landscapes and prevalent industries. The traditional performances are intertwined with African and Indian rhythms, as a result of close trade with these regions.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of activities including folk-dance performances, traditional markets featuring popular dishes, and children and educational workshops.

Considered one of the most prominent cultural destinations in the city, Al Ain Palace Museum narrates the story of UAE's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. With its unique and inherent Arabic identity, Al Ain served as his residence from 1946 until 1966.
