MoSD holds several events to mark Omani Women's Day

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), celebrated Omani Women's Day at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Salalah on Tuesday.
It was held under the theme, 'Woman and Family Economy' under the patronage of H E Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar in the presence of H E sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Saif al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, members of the State Council, and Majlis A'Shura.
The event saw presentations on statistical indicators of Omani women by the National Centre for Statistics and Information and role of Omani women in various practical and scientific sites. Ten contracts were also signed between Salalah Methanol Company and Omani Women's Association in Dhofar to finance programmes and projects for social responsibility in various governorates.
At the end of the event, H E Busaidi honoured a number of woman entrepreneurs, participants and contributors. A number of other events to mark the day were also held at various places. These included the opening of the Omani Women's Association building under the patronage of H E Kalbani and the exhibition on Omani women's associations and productive families at Salalah Gardens Mall under the patronage of H E Dr Yahya bin Badr al Ma'awali, Undersecretary in the Ministry Social development.
The sixth family Cohesion Seminar was held on Wednesday at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural and Entertainment Complex in Salalah in the presence H E Kalbani. A number of working papers were also presented at the event.
