ABU DHABI, 27th March, 2017 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, ADMAF, and Gulf Capital are calling on up and coming Emirati visual artists to take part in "The Gulf Capital Abu Dhabi Festival Visual Arts Award 2017".
Launched at the Abu Dhabi Festival 2013, the award was established to support the UAE visual arts scene, nurturing the creativity of Emirati students and emerging artists, and encouraging them to experience and be inspired by the Abu Dhabi Festival annual exhibition.
This year, the open call invites emerging Emirati visual arts students and practitioners to visit the Festival's headline exhibition, "The Art of Nature", at Umm Al Emarat Park before creating an artwork inspired by the pieces presented to be in with a chance of winning the AED10,000 prize, with registration open until 23rd April. The award's criteria are based on artistic merit, evidence of original and creative thinking and personal application of technical skills.
