Jordan's exports to North American countries reach JD496 million in 6 months


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Aug. 30 (Petra)--Jordan's exports to countries of North America stood at JD496 in the first half of 2016, compared to JD489 million in the same period of last year, according to figures of the Department of Statistics.

The US accounted for the biggest share of these exports with 90 percent standing at JD473 million in the first 6 months of this year.

Canada ranked second with JD22 million, while the value of exports to Mexico reached JD1 million.

According to the figures, exports to EU countries amounted to JD61.5 million with Italy accounting for the lion's share standing at JD25 million. The United Kingdom came second followed by Germany.

Regarding exports to non-Arab Asian countries, Indian accounted for 50 percent of these exports standing at JD360 million followed by Indonesian with JD47 million.

Exports to non-Arab African countries dropped by 70 percent standing at JD11 million.
