Abu Dhabi Awards Ceremony to be broadcast live on March 13th

ABU DHABI 8th March 2016 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee has announced today that an exclusive ceremony to reveal the 2015 Abu Dhabi Awards recipients will take place on Sunday. The ceremony will be presented live on Abu Dhabi TV channel at 7:30 p.m. where the recipients will be revealed.

The Awards are organised on the directives of President His Highness sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to preserve the legacy and belief of the Father of the Nation the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan that every person is inherently selfless and capable to support and care for others and their community.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces the ceremony is the culmination of an exhaustive search for unsung heroes who have selflessly volunteered their time to build and support the community of Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony promises to be a proud and rewarding occasion for several distinguished members of the Abu Dhabi community. The recipients will receive the highest possible recognition of their good deeds in Abu Dhabi.

36404 nominations for people of all ages and nationalities were made during the nomination period in May and June last year of which 22452 individuals were nominated. This includes Abu Dhabi citizens residents and non-residents and Abu Dhabi citizens performing good deeds internationally.

All entries were evaluated by the Abu Dhabi Awards Committee made up of leading dignitaries officials and senior industry figures who produced a shortlist of the most qualified candidates. Award recipients were selected based on their deeds and actions not by the number of nominations received.
