Abbas Meets New Zealand Foreign Minister


(MENAFN- QNA) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here Thursday New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully.

   During the meeting, Abbas affirmed the Palestinian side's commitment to the peace process according to the principle of two-state solution for the establishment of an independent state based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital.

He pointed out that the settlement is a major obstacle to international efforts to save the peace process.

For his part, the New Zealand Minister affirmed his country's readiness to support the peace efforts towards establishing an independent Palestinian State.
