China's Alibaba eyes investing in US AppNexus


(MENAFN) According to the Wall Street Journal, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, the China-based e-commerce giant, is currently holding talks along with several other companies to invest a stake in US AppNexus, The Peninsula Qatar reported. AppNexus, the US-based advertising technology, expects to rise about USD100 million and is considering offers that value the company at more than USD1 billion, the WSJ said. Alibaba plans to gain competence in advertising through investment in AppNexus, while the latter looks to expand its reach outside the United States, said the journal. China's e-commerce giant, which powers 80 percent of all online commerce in the country, is eyeing for what could be the world's biggest technology initial public offering.
