(MENAFN) Bahrain will spend around USD4 billion in order to enhance its sewage facilities over the next 20 years, reported Arabian Business.
Since the 1980s, the Kingdom has invested USD1.21 billion in the sanitary sector, according to Khalifa Al Mansoor, the sanitary engineering assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Works.
The sewerage flow will increase by 100 percent in 2030 due to expectations that the Gulf country's population will reach 2.5 million in the period.
It's worth noting that this investment will concentrate on the construction of treatment plants, transfer networks, internal networks and ongoing maintenance.
