On January 29, 2025, Ankara will host the second trilateral
meeting of the foreign, economic, trade, and transport ministers of
Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan, Azernews
reports.
For this purpose, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov
has embarked on an official visit to Turkiye. The Foreign Ministry
of Azerbaijan noted that Minister Bayramov will deliver a speech at
the trilateral meeting and hold several high-level bilateral
meetings during his visit.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry also released information regarding
the meeting and noted that the meeting agenda will focus on three
main topics: foreign policy issues and regional cooperation,
enhancing collaboration in trade, economy, and investment, and
strengthening cooperation in the development of regional
transportation networks and the transport and communication
sectors.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry also added that at the end of the
trilateral meeting, the Ankara Declaration is expected to be
signed, along with an Action Plan outlining a concrete roadmap for
the three countries to follow in the coming period.
To recall, the first trilateral meeting of the Ministers of
Foreign Affairs, Trade/Economy, and Transport of the Republic of
Azerbaijan, the Republic of Turkiye, and the Republic of Uzbekistan
took place in Tashkent on August 2, 2022.
At the first meeting, views were exchanged on issues related to
foreign policy and opportunities for regional cooperation, as well
as the work done to realize the full potential of cooperation among
the three countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment,
and transport.
As a result of the first meeting, the Tashkent Declaration was
signed by the Ministers responsible for the relevant fields of the
three countries, and the Foreign Ministers made press statements
about the outcomes of the trilateral meeting.
With today's meeting, the three nations aim to build on the
progress made in 2022, fostering deeper ties that promise mutual
benefits for all parties involved.
