Doha: A new batch of licensed Qatari Real estate brokers took the legal oath yesterday before the Ministry of Justice's Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee. It included nineteen real estate brokers, including individuals and companies.
The permit was granted after the applicants had completed the needed procedures under Law No. (22) of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage work and passed a mandatory training course.
Welcoming the new brokers, Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi highlighted the Ministry's keenness to advance the real estate brokerage profession due to its direct impact on the national development in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives, and the outcomes that result from it that are directly related to the national development process, of which the real estate sector is one of the main pillars.
He stressed the importance of dealing with licensed brokers, highlighting the significance of this for protecting the rights of all parties involved. He also warned against engaging with unlicensed brokers to safeguard the parties and avoid potential legal risks.
Al Suwaidi also highlighted the need to adopt real estate agents' contract templates in transactions to ensure the rights of dealers and brokers, noting that the real estate legal system has been developed to add more facilities and services that can be obtained through real estate brokers licensed by the Ministry of Justice.
This step comes within the framework of the Ministry's efforts to reorganise the real estate brokerage profession, and work in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (22) of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage work, in a way that serves the national economy, develops work mechanisms in the real estate market, and qualifies those working in the brokerage profession from Qatari office owners and brokers.
The Real Estate Brokerage Department receives and sorts applications and organises the required training courses in coordination with the Training Department at the Centre for Legal and Judicial Studies to ensure that the applicant for practicing the real estate brokerage profession obtains all the professional and legal requirements to perform their role in this sector in the best possible way.
As part of its plan to train and qualify real estate brokers, the Real Estate Brokerage Department has begun implementing an integrated plan since the law was put into effect, including training and qualification, and activating the executive procedures of the law, including organising visits to offices operating in the sector, and nominating applicants to practice the profession for training courses subject to licensing controls.
