WTTC 24th Global Summit 2024 to take place at Perth


(MENAFN) The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has formally started its 24th Global Summit in the middle of Western Australia’s vibrant capital, Perth (Boorloo). Collecting industry directors, government representatives, and distinguished individuals from across the world, the summit purpose is to set the strategic road for the future of the Travel & Tourism sector.

During her keynote speech, WTTC President & CEO, Julia Simpson, highlighted the importance of holding the summit in Perth, a city well-known for its historical relation to the world of discovering, its deep connection to Indigenous heritage, and its current role as an international hub for tourism innovation.

According to her trip to Western Australia previously this year, she underlined the significance of Indigenous tourism, saying that “Western Australia is a shining example of how empowering Indigenous communities to tell their own stories and share their 60,000-year-old culture can create sustainable tourism opportunities, while enriching the experiences of travellers.” She added, "Perth is more than a gateway to Australia; it’s a beacon for the future of Travel & Tourism. This city has shown us what is possible when we invest in connectivity, embrace technology, and empower communities. Here, Travel & Tourism is not just a sector—it’s a resource that keeps giving, generating opportunities and economic freedom for so many."
