(MENAFN) Russian drones, equipped with military-grade munitions, are being used to target Ukrainian fortifications and ground troops, according to recent footage released by Moscow’s Defense Ministry and media outlets. The weaponized quadcopters, capable of dropping bombs at the pilot's discretion, have become a prominent tool in the Ukraine conflict.
One video, released on Monday, shows a drone dropping two explosive charges on a Ukrainian trench in the Kharkov Region, where troops were hiding. Another video shared with TASS on Tuesday depicts a Russian drone attacking Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk Region, near the village of Martynovka. The footage shows a bomb detonating as soldiers emerge from tree cover, with a second camera used to guide the strike and capture more detailed images of the targets.
Ukrainian forces had briefly entered Russia’s Kursk Region in August, claiming control over the town of Sudzha and nearby areas, but their gains have since been reversed. According to Russian estimates, Ukrainian forces have suffered over 37,300 casualties in their ongoing operations.
