Putin claims US aggressive actions in Middle East may lead to response in region from “resistance forces”

(MENAFN) Putin, in an investment meeting held by Russia's second-biggest bank, VTB, announced that the improvement of recent logistics routes is an “inevitable” procedure supported by the development of the economy and trade and owing it to geopolitical risks.

He illustrated his point of view with the Suez Canal, stating that the amount of cargoes passing through it has reduced, which he explained it as “regrettable” on the part of his nation. He added, “This is, of course, primarily due to geopolitical risks, due to the fact that the US is actively and quite aggressively acting in the Middle East,” pointing out that this may cause a harsh reaction from "resistance forces".

He also declared that the economy as well as logistics routes are struggling, which has caused in many shippers transferring their containers across Africa.

The Russian leader also voiced remarks on US President-elect Donald Trump’s statements over the weekend on implementing a 100 percent tariff on any BRICS nations that tries to part from the US dollar in global trade, announcing that “certain changes” have happened in the international as well as American economy in the previous four years.
