Palestine inks USD24M assistance deals with Germany


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Palestine and Germany inked a series of deals for financial aid amounting to 23 million Euros (nearly USD24 million) aimed at developing infrastructure and delivering urgent support in Palestine. The funds will be used to develop transportation routes, improve water management, enhance waste control systems, and deliver critical humanitarian assistance.

The deals were inked in Ramallah, the central city of the West Bank, by Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wael Zaqout and German Representative in Palestine Oliver Owcza, according to an official statement.

Zaqout expressed his appreciation for the German government’s continued support, noting that the financial assistance would play a key role in fostering regional development and improving public services for Palestinian citizens. He highlighted the importance of the funding in addressing urgent needs and supporting long-term infrastructure projects.

Owcza reaffirmed that these deals are among Germany’s ongoing commitment to assisting the Palestinian government across various sectors. He emphasized that the robust collaboration among both governments continues to grow, with this aid further cementing the partnership and support for Palestine’s development goals.
