Tajikistan Scales Up Agricultural Production


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 28. The total agricultural production in Tajikistan reached 52.280 billion somoni ($4.8 billion) from January through September 2024, which is an 11.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year at comparable prices, Trend reports.

According to the National Agency of Tajikistan, crop production accounted for 39.177 billion somoni ($3.6 billion), with an annual growth of 11.9 percent.

Meanwhile, livestock production amounted to 13.103 billion somoni ($1.2 billion), which is an increase of 9.8 percent year-on-year.

In 2023, Tajikistan's total agricultural output reached 63.028 billion somoni (about $5.9 billion), including 43.36 billion somoni ($4.081 billion) from crop production and 19.662 billion somoni ($1.8 billion) from livestock production.
