BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. Four years have
passed since the liberation of the Hadrut settlement of the
Khojavand district from occupation, Trend reports.
Undoubtedly, this successful operation can also be called a
turning point in the 44-day Second Karabakh War. After this
operation, the Armenian armed forces fully realized that their
defeat was rapidly approaching.
Hadrut was liberated from Armenian Occupation on October 9,
2020, as a result of the counter-offensive measures launched by the
Azerbaijani army on September 27.
The capture of the headquarters of the 18th division of the
occupant, and complete blocking of all communication routes caused
great panic among the enemy. At the same time, the area of the
defensive line for the Armenian army increased, and thus the
maneuver possibilities of the Azerbaijani army grew.
Hadrut, surrounded by mountains, was seriously controlled by
Armenians - all the main roads and mountain roads and trails. Even
though the village was small in area, large forces of the Armenian
army were concentrated there. Hadrut was also their coordinating
point - as they say, the den of the occupants.
The strategic importance of Hadrut for the enemy was great. On
the one hand, the Jabrayil direction could be controlled from here,
and on the other hand, the Fuzuli direction.
Heroic soldiers of the Azerbaijani army liberated the village.
The Armenian army, which retreated in fear and panic along various
mountain paths and routes, tried to attack Hadrut again. However,
the determination and vigilance of our army destroyed all their
plans - the incoming enemy's living force was destroyed in
professionally organized ambushes.
The liberation of Hadrut created a unique opportunity for the
operation to liberate the city of Shusha.
Following the liberation of Hadrut, the Azerbaijani army started
an offensive in the direction of Boyuk Kirs Mountain, Red Bazaar,
Shusha City, and Khojavand. Having gained an advantage there, it
blocked the enemy's supply routes in the direction of Garghabazar
village of Fizuli district. The Hadrut operation became one of the
great successes of the Azerbaijani army and another major failure
of the Armenian army.
The Hadrut settlement, where terrorist groups preparing the
bloody Karabakh conflict were once concentrated, has now been
liberated and is being restored by its ancestral landlords.
