Kazakhstan Reveals Volume Of Grain Exports To Central Asia In 8M2024


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 22. Kazakhstan exported 2.5 million tons of grain to Central Asian countries from January through August 2024, Trend reports.

This was revealed during the regular meeting of Kazakhstan's Operational Headquarters for the fall field work under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin.

A total of 1.8 million tons of grain was sent to Uzbekistan, 600,000 tons to Tajikistan, and 100,000 tons to Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

"For 12 days of September, 132,000 tons of grain were sent to Central Asian countries. It is 2.5 times more than in September 2023. Until the end of the month, the volume of grain shipments will be about 250,000 tons," the Managing Director of Kazakhstan Railways, Bauyrzhan Urynbasarov, said.

Meanwhile, grain transportation within the country increased by 11.3 percent from January through August 2024 compared to last year and amounted to more than 1.5 million tons. A total of 5.7 million tons of grain were transported.
