Tajikistan, WB Discuss Energy Cooperation


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 11. Tajikistan and the World bank (WB) have discussed energy cooperation, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan told Trend .

The Ministry announced that a delegation led by Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda met with representatives of the WB.

The key topics of the meeting included the energy sector and the implementation of bilateral plans in this area. It was emphasized that in the context of climate change and rapid global warming, the production of green energy is crucial; and Tajikistan is considered one of the leading countries globally due to its focus on green energy.

The prime minister highlighted that recent years have seen significant progress due to Tajikistan's integration with global financial institutions, including the WB. Measures have been taken to construct and equip hydroelectric facilities in the country, with ongoing work in this direction.

The parties also kicked around ideas for bolstering integration and showed a keen interest in ramping up the financing volume for the sector.
