Azerbaijani Films Shown At Venice Film Festival

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 3, The 81st Venice
Film Festival is taking place in Italy, Trend reports.
The management of the Cinema Agency of the Republic of
Azerbaijan (ARCA) also takes part in this prestigious international
film festival, which is held on the Lido Island in Venice.
For the first time in the history of Azerbaijani cinema, two
films were shown at the festival. These are the films "Monologue of
a Lonely Man" by director Emin Efendiyev, dedicated to the Second
Karabakh War, and "Creators" by director Shamil Aliyev, reflecting
the architecture of 20th century Azerbaijan. The film "Creators"
tells about the life and work of famous architects Mikail Huseynov
and Sadik Dadashev, as well as the contribution of the great leader
Heydar Aliyev to the development of architecture by protecting the
intelligentsia from persecution by the regime during the Soviet

Presentations were also held within the framework of the
festival to attract producers for joint production of winning
projects with foreign companies in the competition organized by
ARKA. In addition to the film project of director Ilgar Najaf "When
the birds are silent", other film projects were presented to
foreign producers, which will be implemented with the financial
support of ARCA.
The Venice Film Festival is an important platform for
establishing connections with foreign companies and producers in
terms of co-production of screen works.
It should be noted that in the history of this prestigious
festival, the feature film“Among the Scattered Deaths” by
Azerbaijani director Hilal Baydarov was included in the main
competition program. The festival, which started on August 28, will
last until September 7.
