Uzbekistan Notes Growth In Number Of Bank Cards Issued Into Circulation


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 27. The number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 50.9 million from January through July 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from the Central bank of Uzbekistan (CBU), this figure shows a 29.1 percent growth year-on-year (39.4 million in January–July 2023).

The volume of issued cards declined to 800,000 in July 2024, compared to 1.3 million in June 2024.

By dishing out 11.2 million bank cards, Xalq Bank has taken the cake and become the top actor, while the nation's Uzum Bank has barely scratched the surface with a meager 1,301 bank cards issued into circulation.

Meanwhile, the number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan reached 50.1 million as of July 2024. This indicates a 29.1 percent growth compared to the same period last year (38.8 million as of July 2023).
