Uzbekistan's Electricity Production Hits Slump In 7M2024


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 25. Uzbekistan produced 42.8 billion kWh of electricity from January through July 2024, Trend reports.

The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that the production volume shows a 5.6 percent decline compared to the same period last year (45.2 billion kWh in January–July 2023).

At the same time, the country's electricity production increased to 6 billion kWh in July 2024, compared to 5.7 billion kWh in June 2024.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's enterprises manufactured industrial products worth 435.2 trillion soums ($34.5 billion) from January through July 2024. This figure has increased by 26.3 percent year-on-year (345 trillion soums, or $2.4 billion in January–July 2023).

In the structure of production, Uzbekistan's electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply production reached 34 trillion soums ($2.7 billion) during this period.
