Curbs Fuelling Unemployment, Says Baradar

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): The caretaker government has once again renewed its demand for the lifting of what it calls unjust sanctions on Afghanistan's banking sector.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar told the National Labour conference here the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was willing for constructive engagement with the entire world in line with the national interest.

The interim government was duty-bound to deliver effective services to the people, whose problems and concerns were duly considered and addressed, he insisted.

A string of mega infrastructure and reconstruction projects, including the Qosh Tepa Canal, Amu Darya Oil Basin, Bakhshabad Dam and other schemes, had been undertaken, offering jobs to thousands of citizens, he pointed out.

Baradar told participants the government was trying to boost Afghanistan's economy and transform the country into a commercial hub connecting South and Central Asia.
