the seaports of Kazakhstan, exporters, cargo owners, relevant
ministries, and other participants in foreign economic activity
have discussed improving the efficiency of the Trans-Caspian
International transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor), Trend
reports.
Discussions on this topic took place during the round table
"Innovative trends in container transportation and multimodal
strategies" which was held in Aktau.
Thus, participants discussed opportunities to improve efficiency
and increase cargo flows along the Middle Corridor, exchanging
experience on port operational issues.
The round table included three sessions dedicated to modern
trade flows, new opportunities for the development of container and
multimodal transport, as well as innovations in the organization of
transport.
Participants at the event highlighted the importance of the
Middle Corridor to regional trade and economic development,
demonstrating participants' commitment to using this route to
improve logistics efficiency and economic growth.
The Middle Corridor is a transportation and trade route that
connects Asia and Europe, passing through several countries in the
region. It is an alternative route to the traditional Northern
Corridor and Southern Corridor.
The route starts in China and crosses Central Asian countries
such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. It then passes
through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye before
reaching Europe.
The Middle Corridor offers a land route that connects the
eastern parts of Asia, including China, with Europe, bypassing the
longer maritime routes.
