Azerbaijani, Russian Mfas Hold Political Consultations


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. Another round of political consultations has taken place in Moscow between the Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministries, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The Azerbaijani delegation at the consultations was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, while the Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

"A broad exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects for the development of Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral cooperation, as well as on international and regional issues on the agenda that are of mutual interest.

The meeting emphasized with satisfaction that the high-level political dialogue, based on mutual trust between the leaders of the two countries and shaping the bilateral agenda, is the foundation of allied interaction between the states.

The political consultations between the two countries also discussed issues of cooperation within economic, trade, cultural-humanitarian, international, and regional organizations and formats, and reviewed the bilateral legal framework and considered projects.

On the same day, a meeting was held between Sharifov and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko. The meeting featured an exchange of views on international and regional security issues, as well as on cooperation within regional formats in which both countries participate.

Besides, a meeting between Sharifov and the Special Representative of the President of Russia, head of the Russian delegation in negotiations on Caspian Sea issues Mikhail Petrakov discussed the current state and dynamics of cooperation on Caspian issues," the ministry added.
