Additionally, the official highlighted that the quarterly fishery export demonstrated an increase of over 40 percent in terms of weight year on year. As previously reported by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran's fishery exports in the last Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 19, rose by three percent, surpassing USD310 million.

IRICA detailed that the weight of exported fishery products in the last Iranian fiscal year was 149,000 metric tons, marking a 12 percent increase compared to the previous year. Shrimp exports during this period reached USD98.5 million, making up 32 percent of the total export value of Iran's fishery products. Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and China were the primary markets for Iran's shrimp exports during the noted period, though there was a 26 percent decrease in value compared to the previous year.

According to the report, fisheries exports represent less than 70 percent of Iran's total exports, with the UAE, China, Russia, and Iraq being the largest markets for the country’s fishery products.
