MP Ali Sabri Raheem Arrested

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Puttalam District MP Ali Sabri Raheem was arrested by the Kalpitiya Police over a warrant issued against him.
The MP surrendered to the Kalpitiya Police and was subsequently arrested.
He was subsequently released on bail.
The warrant was issued after the MP failed to appear in court over a case filed against him.
In March, the MP was suspended from Parliament for a period of one month following an incident where he was detained at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with undeclared Gold and mobile phones. (Colombo Gazette)
