Police shoot man with knives in Milwaukee

(MENAFN) In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during an incident near the site of the Republican National Convention, US police officers fatally shot an individual, as confirmed by Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman during a press briefing. According to Chief Norman, the shooting involved five officers who responded to a situation where a man wielding a knife in each hand had reportedly attacked an unarmed individual before law enforcement intervened. Notably, Chief Norman clarified that the incident was unrelated to any activities associated with the Republican convention being held in the area.

This occurrence comes in the wake of heightened attention following an assassination attempt targeting Republican candidate Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. Trump was present at the convention, where he secured his party's nomination to contend against President Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about public safety and law enforcement responses during significant political gatherings across the United States.
