Putin admires Modi`s leadership

(MENAFN) During a dinner meeting in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin lauded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership abilities, welcoming him to his official residence in Novo-Ogaryovo. Putin congratulated Modi on his recent reelection for a third consecutive term, noting that this success was not coincidental but rather a reflection of his dedication and hard work as the head of government over the years.

While Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did not secure an outright majority in the 543-member Lok Sabha, it successfully reached the majority threshold through alliances, making this trip to Russia Modi’s first state visit since his reelection.

Putin emphasized Modi's capacity to deliver results in the interests of India and its citizens. He remarked on the significance of India’s growing economy and its status as the world's most populous nation, suggesting that this growth expands the family-planning horizons for its citizens. This stability and confidence among the populace are vital for the country’s progress.

In 2022, India overtook the United Kingdom to become the world's fifth-largest economy and is projected to surpass Japan and Germany, aiming for third place by 2027. The Indian Finance Ministry forecasts that the economy will exceed USD7 trillion by the end of the decade.

Expressing gratitude for Putin's hospitality, Modi looked forward to their official discussions scheduled for Tuesday, confident that these talks would further strengthen the bonds of friendship between India and Russia.
