Orban publishes footage of his Moscow trip
(MENAFN) Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has released a short video documenting his unexpected visit to Moscow, where he engaged in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed at exploring avenues for resolving the Ukraine conflict.
Published on Sunday via Orban's official facebook page under the title "Mission of peace. Second stop: Moscow," the video offers a glimpse into his journey from Hungary to Russia. The footage begins with Orban in conversation with Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto aboard an aircraft en route to Moscow. Upon arrival, the video captures Orban receiving a ceremonial welcome on a red carpet at the airport, followed by his travel to the Kremlin in an Aurus vehicle.
Aurus, introduced in 2018 during President Putin's inauguration, serves as the official state vehicle of the Russian president, replacing a previously foreign-made fleet used by top officials. The video further documents Orban's meeting with President Putin at the Kremlin, alongside Szijjarto and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The leaders are seen addressing the media during a joint press conference, after which Orban is depicted departing from the Kremlin.
Orban's visit to Moscow stirred controversy within the European Union, particularly in Brussels, following his recent diplomatic efforts in Kiev, where he advocated for peace talks between President Zelensky and Russia. Despite Orban's proposal of a ceasefire as a potential pathway to peace, Zelensky maintained that only a military victory could ensure a just resolution to the conflict.
