Azerbaijan significantly increased its Natural gas exports to
Turkiye in April 2024, marking a 12.02 percent rise compared to the
same period last year, Azernews reports citing the
Turkish energy market Regulation Authority (EPDK).
According to the report, Azerbaijan's exports reached 1.001
billion cubic meters in April 2024, up from 893.36 million in April
2023.
Azerbaijan emerged as Turkiye's largest natural gas exporter
during this reporting period.
Iran followed in second place with exports of approximately
543.99 million cubic meters, showing a notable decrease of 37.25
percent compared to April 2023.
Russia ranked third in natural gas exports to Turkiye, supplying
413.24 million cubic meters during the same period, representing a
significant decline of 76.01 percent from April 2023 (1.524 billion
cubic meters).
Turkiye reduced its total gas imports in April 2024 to
approximately 2.395 billion cubic meters, marking a decrease of
39.85 percent from 3.982 billion cubic meters in April 2023.
Imports of pipeline gas decreased by 40.38 percent to 1.958
billion cubic meters, while liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports
decreased by 37.37 percent to 437.25 million cubic meters.
