Arabian Horse Show Worth $2M To Brazilian Economy

São Paulo – The 43rd Brazilian National Arabian Horse Show will be held in Indaiatuba, São Paulo state, from July 3 to 8, and bring in BRL 10 million (roughly USD 2 million). According to information from the Brazilian Association of Arabian Horse Breeders (ABCCA), the event will feature 320 breed animals and be attended by participants from Brazil, Chile, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay. One of the judges is from Saudi Arabia.
There will be events of Conformation (Halter) and Performance (Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, and Traditional Costume). Halter judges a horse's bone structure, musculature, and its body proportions in relation to each other, while performance events take into account riding styles, the riders' costumes, and the horses' gear.
Arabian horse: Animal auctions to be featured
The show will host halter and performance events of the Brazil Cup and the South American round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup. Championship judges hail from across Brazil, Denmark, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.
The show will feature awards and two auctions of animals from certified breeders. According to the ABCCA, the institution has invested nearly BRL 2.2 million (USD 400,000) in the event.“We're expecting a record-high number of horses and a record turnout, as well as a heavy presence of foreign breeders,” the association's president, Francisco Carrasco, was quoted as saying in a statement.
