Amman, June 23 (Petra) -- A new humanitarian aid convoy has crossed into northern Gaza, dispatched by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab army and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).
The convoy, consisting of 70 trucks, was sent in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and supported by various organizations and companies, including the Islamic Relief Worldwide, the Kuwait Society for Relief, Al-Imdaad Association, Taalof Alkhair, the Arabian Medical Relief, and others.
According to a JHCO statement released Sunday, the convoy carried essential food parcels, medical supplies, and medications. These will be distributed to Gaza residents, specifically in the northern areas of the strip, through partner associations and organizations in Gaza.
Hussein Shibli, JHCO Secretary-General, warned that the suffering of Gaza's population could turn into a humanitarian catastrophe, with all reports indicating an approaching famine in the Gaza Strip.
Shibli added that Jordanian efforts to deliver humanitarian aid are ongoing, aiming to alleviate and stop this tragic situation. He revealed that the total number of land trucks that have entered Gaza to date has reached 2,110, in addition to 53 planes via El-Arish.
He emphasized that the JHCO continues to accept cash donations via the El Etihad Bank account (JO32 UBSI 1030 0000 4010 1659 9151 06), electronic wallets, Click JHCOGAZA, eFAWATEERcom and the official website ().
