Eight Israeli Soldiers Killed In Rafah Explosion

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) The Israeli army announced that eight of its soldiers were killed early Saturday morning due to an explosion in southern Rafah.

The Israeli army stated on June 15 that these soldiers were returning to their residence from a nighttime operation against Hamas in Rafah when they were killed by the explosion.

The Israeli army has currently only confirmed the death of the deputy commander of the 601st Brigade and has not provided details about the other casualties.

This incident is considered the deadliest attack on the Israeli army since January. In January, 21 Israeli soldiers were killed due to a Hamas rocket strike and the collapse of two buildings.

Since the beginning of the Israeli army's ground offensive in Gaza, 307 of its soldiers have lost their lives.

The situation in Gaza has become dire due to the ongoing Israeli attacks. The humanitarian crisis is worsening daily, with severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.

Thousands of civilians have been displaced, and the infrastructure has been heavily damaged, making it challenging to provide basic necessities and medical care to those in need.

International aid organizations have been calling for immediate ceasefires and humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to the affected population.

The destruction of hospitals, schools, and homes has left many without shelter or access to essential services, exacerbating the already critical situation in Gaza.
