Qatar Gears Up For Festive Eid Al-Adha Celebrations


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar is all set to welcome the Eid al-Adha holidays with an array of exciting events and activities designed to entertain and engage people of all ages.
The festivities will kick off Thursday and will continue throughout the holiday period, promising a vibrant and memorable celebration.
Msheireb Properties recently announced that Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) will host a one-of-its-kind Eid al-Adha programme at the Msheireb Galleria from June 16 to 22.
Visitors can enjoy stage performances, treasure hunts for children, photo booths, immersive experiences, competitions, games, arts and crafts stations, henna artistry, balloon twisting, and face painting.
In a press statement, Dr Hafiz Ali Abdullah, senior director of Corporate Communications at Msheireb Properties, highlighted the aim to provide visitors with unforgettable moments of joy, discovery, and togetherness.
Katara Cultural Village will be abuzz with events and performances from June onwards, featuring a diverse range of musical and theatrical shows. The highlight includes a captivating play titled“The Garden of Dreams” alongside performances from groups from Jordan, China, Morocco, Syria, and other countries.
Traditional Qatari ardha dance, a show by the Police Music Band, art workshops for children, and fireworks display over Katara Corniche from 10pm will add to the festive atmosphere. Visitors can also explore art exhibitions and enjoy a relaxing time at the Katara beach.
Qatar Tourism (QT) is organising two concerts at Al Mayassa Theater at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).“Thekra Remains”, featuring singers Asma Lmnawer and Oumima Taleb, will take place on June 18, followed by“Lailet Elzaman Eljameel” with Mai Farooq and Reham Abdulhakem on June 19.
QNCC will also host the“Inflata City” from June 18 to July 13, offering a variety of fun-filled activities for children.
Al Shaqab will welcome families and children to their Longines Indoor Arena from June 18 to 20, providing free entry and activities like horse/pony rides, bouncy activities, archery, and face painting.
Al Arabi Indoor Stadium will host“Eid Malhar 2.0” on June 20, showcasing the talents of the South Indian Film Industry. The event will feature“Almaram” band, Jassie Gift, Bhavana, Shamna Kassim, and a dance performance choreographed by Prasanna Sujith.
Major malls across Qatar are also preparing for a massive influx of visitors during Eid al-Adha. They will be hosting various entertainment shows, engaging activities, workshops, arts and crafts, flying balloon shows, face painting, mascot appearances, games, contests, puppet shows, stage plays, storytelling, and parades.
Festival-goers are invited to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Majlis Al Eid at Heenat Salma, taking place from June 16 to 18. Held between 12pm and 9pm, the festival offers a delightful blend of activities and offers visitors an engaging hands-on artisanal workshops. They will also learn new culinary skills, enjoy animation cartoon screenings in Arabic with English subtitles, and be enthralled by live music band performances, featuring traditional music.
Qatar Museums (QM) announced that it will host a range of festive activities, including workshops at the National Museum of Qatar to engage families with art and culture. Dadu, Children's Museum of Qatar, will organise two days of activities titled“From Our Family to Yours: Eid Joy and Celebrations”. QM venues will be closed on June 16 in observance of Eid al-Adha and resume their regular operating hours thereafter.
