Iran Launches Registration Of Presidential Candidates


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The registration ofcandidates for the presidential election has started in Iran today(30 May) and will last for five days, Iranian Interior MinisterAhmad Vahidi said during a press conference, Trend reports.

According to him, the presidential election in Iran will be astransparent as the parliamentary election.

Meanwhile, on June 28, Iran will hold its unprecedentedpresidential election. Candidates for president may be those whoare between the ages of 40 and 75, have held important positions inthe nation's state administration for at least four years, andpossess a minimum of a master's degree in science.

To note, on May 19, a helicopter carrying Iranian PresidentEbrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, TabrizProvince Imam Ayatollah Ali Hashim, and East Azerbaijan ProvinceGovernor-General Malek Rahmati crashed while flying from Khudafarinto Tabriz.

The Iranian President and the entire accompanying delegationwere confirmed dead.
